Alberto Rottura stands for a portrait at Alberta Del Montecchi hair salon on the Upper East Side of Manhattan Friday, September 18, 2009. Rotture has been cutting hair for a living since he was a teenager in the village of Acquaro, in southern Italy. Since coming to New York in 1960, his regular clients include Mayor Bloomberg, public advocate Betsy Gotbaum, writer Tom Wolfe, and former Gov. Eliot Spitzer (until he became tangled in an escort scandal and never returned).
