From Willets Point, Queens, 12/15/08

Willets Point is a neighborhood next to Shea Stadium without sidewalks or sewers. As of 2007 only one resident lives in there, alongside scrapyards, auto body repair shops, waste processing sites and warehouses. Starting in 2010 the entire 26 acre neighborhood will be demolished under eminent domain and replaced with apartment buildings, a hotel, convention center, office space and a public school.

Times have been tough. With an abrupt end to my time at the New York Daily News due to the weeks spent on the Obama trail last month, and the state of the economy, my shooting has been painfully limited lately.
